Cognizant is a member of the NASDAQ-100, the S&P 500, the Forbes Global 1000, and the Fortune 500 and we are among the top performing and fastest growing companies in the world. **About the Role** We are seeking an experienced **Azure Data Engineer** with strong expertise in **Azure Databricks** , **Azure Synapse Analytics** , **PySpark** , and **Azure Data Factory (ADF)** . This role involves designing and implementing scalable data solutions on Azure, enabling advanced analytics and business intelligence for enterprise clients. **Key Responsibilities** + Design and develop **data pipelines** using **Azure Data Factory (ADF)** and **Databricks** for ETL/ELT processes. + Implement **data transformation and processing** using **PySpark** within Databricks. + Build and optimize **data models** in **Azure Synapse Analytics** for reporting and analytics. + Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver robust data solutions. + Ensure **data quality, security, and compliance** across all data processes. + Optimize performance of data pipelines and queries for large-scale datasets. + Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data ingestion, transformation, and storage. + Document technical designs, workflows, and best practices. **Required Skills & Experience** + **5+ years** of experience in data engineering with strong Azure expertise. + Hands-on experience with **Azure Databricks** for big data processing. + Proficiency in **PySpark** for data transformation and analytics. + Strong knowledge of **Azure Synapse Analytics** for data warehousing and modeling. + Experience in building **ETL/ELT pipelines** using **Azure Data Factory (ADF)** . + Solid understanding of **SQL** and performance tuning for large datasets. + Familiarity with **Azure security and governance** best practices. + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with **Delta Lake** , **Azure DevOps** , and CI/CD for data solutions. + Knowledge of **data lake architecture** and **data governance frameworks** . + Exposure to **Power BI** or other visualization tools. **Why Join Us?** + Work on cutting-edge Azure data technologies in a dynamic environment. + Opportunity to design and implement enterprise-scale data solutions. + Collaborative team culture with focus on innovation and growth. **Work model:** We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible.
