Start a great job that allows you to give kids a healthy start to their day! **Responsibilities/Qualfications for Jackson Public:** **Minimum requirements:** **at least 21 years old** High school diploma or GED Ability to work with others Skilled in general cooking mechanics Ability to follow directions Willing to work in various capacities Reports To Child Nutrition Manager Supervises N/A Job Goal To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness. Essential Functions Performs tasks assigned by the manager, using equipment safely and properly. Assists cook as assigned by manager. Assists in cleaning tables, furnishings, and floors in dining and kitchen areas. Assists in receiving and storing food items, etc. Assists in maintaining storage area and inventory. Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion. Assists, when needed, in serving students and staff members. Operates dishwashing machine during meals. Performs other related duties as requested or assigned. Evaluation The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of personnel. Salary Information Classification: Child Nutrition Assistant Scale: Classified Grade: A1 Days Employed: Range: Beginning Salary Exception: JPS employees should refer to the Classified Employee Pay Scale Rules of Administration and Implementation. Overtime: Non-exempt + Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills + Ability to follow oral and written directions + Ability to establish effective working relationships with school district staff + Ability to positively relate to a younger generation of students + Ability to withstand frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
