Job Purpose: The goal of the accounting intern will be to obtain entry level experience and valuable connections as an accountant in the music industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Help update and enhance departmental overhead reporting.
  • Record journal entries consistent with US GAAP
  • Gather supporting documentation for various accounting records
  • Take on research projects to assist the team with role-specific items
  • Archive check images
  • Generate invoices to send to affiliates and external parties for masters uses, royalties, and service fees
  • Assist with other accounting processes as needed


Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Accounting
  • Passionate about the music and entertainment business, and have a desire to build a career in the industry
  • Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment with minimal disruption
  • An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management
  • You are hungry to learn and grow. You are curious, ask questions and get excited about new projects
  • A highly organized person that pays close attention to the details and can effectively time manage their responsibilities and tasks
  • Proven Excel experience
  • Sound, professional presence over the phone and during times of stress
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic computer skills
  • Experience using CRM and accounting information systems are a plus
  • Knowledge of Excel Macros is a plus
  • Flexible working hours during semester (ideally 10+ hours a week), 30 hours per week required during summer
  • Availability for the spring semester and summer
