Job Description

Distant Moon is one of the fastest growing film companies on the east coast. Our core focus is to

promote human flourishing and to do so by crafting films and stories that help audiences wrestle

with life's deepest questions, understand the world around them more deeply, and come in contact

with the Creator who made that world. We're looking for a driven marketing, sales, and

communications leader who can dream up and steer the execution of Distant Moon initiatives. We

hope that's you. We're currently in search of a multi-talented Director of Brand Growth, passionate

about creative work, and ready to join a rockstar team of directors, editors, and producers, at our

oce in Leesburg, Virginia (an hour outside of Washington DC).

We've partnered with a wide range of clients—including Hillsdale College, Freethink, the Federal

Bureau of Investigation, and George Mason University, to name a few—on a spectrum of creative

projects like courses, commercials, mini-documentaries, and other narrative work.

Job Overview 

The Director of Brand Growth will help Distant Moon achieve strategic goals through marketing, brand presence, employee recruitment, and partnerships.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, managing, and holding accountable sales and creative support teams.
  • Creating a master marketing and content schedule for Distant Moon.
  • Playing a hands-on role in digital content creation as the department grows.
  • Working with print and digital vendors to ensure final assets are quality pieces.
  • Managing the brand budget.
  • Writing and reviewing copy for Distant Moon's website, proposals, social media platforms, and other digital and print assets.
  • Creating thought leadership content for LinkedIn and the website.
  • Managing the website and other brand presence platforms.
  • Managing Distant Moon's presence at industry events.
  • Managing Distant Moon's annual Film Impact Summit.
  • Conducting market research to determine the best partnerships that will further Distant Moon's mission.
  • Leading the strategy for sales funnels and drafting prospect follow-up messaging.
  • Leading the strategy for nurture campaigns in the CRM platform.
  • Managing client and customer satisfaction surveys and reports showing Distant Moon's Success.
  • Implementing Distant Moon's brand guide.
  • Writing, building, and managing the CEO newsletter.
  • Ensuring all contact lists and info is organized and managed within Zoho.
  • Owning the department scorecard, defining measurable goals, tracking stats, and presenting high-level reports.
  • Traveling periodically to represent Distant Moon, either locally or on travel jobs at Distant Moon's expense.

Candidate Requirements

  • 5 years combined experience in sales and marketing. 
  • Desire to be a part of building a world-class company from the ground up from a team of 20 into a large media studio.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects at once, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience creating, managing, and scheduling branded social media content.
  • Strong communication skills and marketing writing experience.
  • Astute attention to detail.
  • Portfolio link that showcases relevant work.
  • Motivated and self-directed.
  • Experience managing and editing websites.
  • Strong commitment to excellence, creativity, collaboration, integrity, and a lead-by-example work ethic.
  • Able to self-examine and revise work before submitting for review.
  • Welcomes constructive criticism and enjoys learning new ways to sharpen and hone skills.
  • Must be able to deliver high-quality products within a defined production schedule.

Additional Preferred Skills (Not Required)

  • Graphic Design experience.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Project Management software experience, namely Teamwork.
  • Knowledge of Zoho CRM system.
  • Knowledge of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
