A crane operator is a construction worker responsible for safely operating a crane to lift, move, and position heavy materials or equipment at construction sites, industrial facilities, or other work areas, requiring them to perform pre-shift inspections, monitor load weights, communicate with ground crew, and ensure all safety protocols are followed while maneuvering the crane to precisely place loads as directed. Employee will properly operate large equipment to work on operational projects and work safely as part of a team under the supervision of a Foreman/ Supervisor.
The employee assumes responsibility and is presumed to know the routine work details and performance standards of the job and to perform assigned tasks without appreciable advice from Manager or Foreman. Employee may be subject to long hours, weekend and holiday work. Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees.

HAZARD:
Jobs in a commercial environment involve demanding physical tasks that require certain physical abilities including but not limited to:
Disagreeable: Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk. Outdoor construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.
Exerting 25-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to kneel, bend and crawl.
Ability to squat and crouch.
Ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
Ability to reach over head.
Must have the ability to lift, bend, twist and pull to be able to successfully seat and safely secure oneself to operate crane.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee works regularly under undesirable conditions. Interruptions and distractions are frequent and can have some effect on job performance.
